Injectable H1N1 Flu Vaccine is Coming for 6 months to 3 years

PLEASE do not call the office, until you read this entire post. (THANK YOU)

We have been notified that sometime next week we will be receiving a shipment of 500 doses of the injectable H1N1 influenza vaccine for children ages 6 months to 3 years. (We still have no idea when the injectable vaccine for 3 years and older will arrive.)

We will begin scheduling appointments for Monday, November 9th, (because we do not know exactly when the shipment will arrive).

We will post an update to this blog if we can schedule appointments before that date.

Children under the age of 10 will need to receive 2 doses of their age specific vaccine - 30 days apart (if the supply permits). We can not "save" your child's second dose because it is important that we vaccinate as many children as possible with their first dose so that they receive "some" protection.

Each day we will schedule as many appointments as possible without compromising the safety of our patients and our staff.

We do not know when we will be receiving the injectable vaccine for children 3 years and older. We will send out an eNewsletter as well as post an update to this blog as soon as we have more information.
(Supply update coming tomorrow)
